Meet your Framework sauna and cold plunge studio guides

Hear personal stories from our social sauna and cold plunge studio team about their experiences, favorite rituals, and the positive changes they’ve noticed since incorporating exposure therapy into their routine.

Hi there Bekah.

Q: What inspired you to join Framework?

Bekah: I love the approach of introducing hot and cold in a community environment—there’s something about going through extreme temperatures with one another that opens up conversation and connection. It's very different from what we're used to. Also, to be a part of something so new and innovative that affects both your mental and physical health so quickly? It’s something I wanted to be a part of and put into practice for myself, and help put into practice for other people.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role here?

Bekah: Being able to meet all the variety of people that come through—to hear their stories about what brought them in, how they learned about exposure therapy, and if they're first timers—and see how quickly cold and hot have benefitted them. That's definitely my number one.

Q: You're also an athletic trainer—talk a little bit about its relevance at Framework.

Bekah: My main focus is injury prevention and rehabilitation. A lot of stretching, a lot of heat and ice—just helping with stiffness and soreness. We see a lot of people coming into Framework sore from working out or simply from everyday life. Even some ‘weekend warriors’ come in. Being able to know the gist and the ‘framework’ of the body—how hot and cold helps the whole body in check—is cool to see. At Framework, we have the recovery, injury prevention, the physical and the mental aspect taken care of.

Q: What have you learned from your time working at Framework that you've applied outside of our studio walls?

Bekah: The biggest thing with doing cold and hot myself has been being in the tub. It's a tough three to four minutes for me, but I've been able to see that the stress in here has helped go through some stresses outside of the tub. It’s been really cool. I'm able to work on my breathing, compose myself, know that it's just temporary and that's going to end, and overcome it.

What’s up, Christopher?

Q: What inspired you to join Framework?

Christopher: It seemed like the perfect culmination of my background in personal training, customer service, and working on small teams.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role here?

Christopher: Helping people with their first plunge. If they've never experienced cold plunging before, it's fun to walk people through their time tub, teach them about all the health benefits, and help them conquer their first two to three minutes.

Q: Tell us about some of the things that you enjoy doing outside of the studio.

Christopher: I'm a musician and a songwriter. I've been writing songs since I was 15 years old. I’ve been in bands called Brother Man and Dale Hollow, and I’m currently working on a new project with one of my best friends, Lexi Jade Walden. We don't have a name for the act yet—but there’s been tons of writing. I just love being creative.

Q: What have you learned from your time working at Framework that you've applied outside of our studio walls?

Christopher: I wish I would have known about sauna and cold plunge at least 10 years ago. Cold plunge and sauna have been a revelation for my mental health. I've always worked to manage heavy depression, and when I found cold plunge and sauna, it helped minimize my depressive episodes. I feel great, and I wish I would have felt this great forever.

Hello Alijah.

Q: What inspired you to join Framework?

Alijah: I've been interested and invested in fitness since the sixth grade, and when I first moved to Nashville, I became the president of our fitness organization. When the opportunity to join Framework presented itself, I hopped on it.

Q: Tell us about some of the things that you enjoy doing outside of the studio.

Alijah: I coach volleyball at FA Jenkins, a middle school here. But I'm also into fashion, styling, and content creating.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role here?

Alijah: Greeting people when they initially come in. I love seeing their nerves, thinking there’s no way they can sit in the cold plunge, and then seeing them leaving after sitting in the 40-degree tub for eight minutes.

Hey MK!

Q: What inspired you to join Framework?

MK: My background is in yoga and holistic health, but I wanted to go deeper into the health and wellness field, so Framework ended up being a fantastic fit for me.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role here?

MK: Oh my goodness, the regulars. I love the regulars—I love the people that come in here. I learn something new from everybody every day. It's so much fun.

Q: Tell us about some of the things that you enjoy doing outside of the studio.

MK: I like learning about tornadoes and historical time periods. Last month was Winston Churchill, and this month I’m plunging into the Wild West.

Q: What have you learned from your time working at Framework that you've applied outside of our studio walls?

MK: All kinds of things. Breath work, for one—Steven has taught us a lot about breathing and meditation that I feel like I've applied to my everyday life. Christopher, my coworker, talks a lot about Eastern philosophy and has given me more things to read about. And those are just a few examples of new things that I learn every day!
